Thank you for hosting a Back to Africa Jewelry Party!
Here are some suggestions to make this event run smoothly and successfully: Have at least one big table to display the jewelry. Put out as much as you can in the space you have available. As they are sold, you can put out more. Have another location set up for closing out orders. If you have someone that can help with that, it frees you up to hostess. A suggested schedule for the party would be as follows:
a.First 30-45 minutes: Guests are arriving. As guests come in, please provide each one with a Shopping Cart. This helps them identify styles and prices. Let them look at the jewelry, visit and snack.
b. Assemble guests in a central location to view DVD. Show DVD and then show them the Child Sponsorship Cards, giving a short explanation of how that works. We have also included a FAQ sheet about these cards in your packet. You can also invite them to host a party at this time. At checkout, anyone who wants to host a party can sign up and we will contact them. Remind them that these make great gifts.
c. Please encourage them to share their email address to be notified of new designs and sales.
d. Additional jewelry can also be purchased through the online store. Go to www.heartofthebride.org to access.
e.Release them to continue shopping and make their purchases.
f. As they purchase, collect the Shopping Cart Forms. After you have everyone’s form, you may draw from these for a free necklace. The winner can choose anything single necklace.
g.The Hostess receives 1 set or necklace of their choice. If you choose Banda, however, we ask that you pay the difference from $36.
Inventory: Some of the jewelry you receive will be in bags, especially the sets. Other single necklaces may be bound together. We suggest you remove the jewelry from the bags for display, and untie the bundles as well. For those that are not in bags, we’ve included additional organza bags for you to put them in for the customer as they are bought.
Often a shopper will ask if sets can be broken up for purchase. Here is our policy on that: On the Banda Sets, those will not be broken. Any of the other sets can be broken up, as long as the customer purchases 2 of the 3 items in the set, as long as one of the items is the necklace. The cost is $31 for 2 out of 3.
Check Out Procedures:
1. Personal checks need to have a phone number and DL number. Checks should be made out to Back to Africa.
2. It’s helpful to have a little cash on hand for cash transactions. A suggested amount is $30, $10 in ones, and the rest in fives or tens is usually sufficient.
